Welcome to a breakfast seminar about opportunities and obstacles to increase the use of recycled plastics in the plastics sector. Based on the industry’s needs and wishes, and with examples from the waste sector in Sweden and Denmark, recycled plastic raw material is discussed in regard to the new regulation on producer responsibility for packaging and the EU’s plastics directive.
The session is organized by the research program STEPS, Sustainable Plastics and Transition Pathways.
It is a long-term interdisciplinary research program with a vision to contribute to more sustainable site systems with lower environmental impact, smart and efficient use of plastic, and high material recycling. It brings together researchers and industry partners who represent the entire value chain from raw material to finished product. STEPS is funded by MISTRA, the Foundation for Environmental Strategic Research, and is led by Lund University. The session will be in Swedish.
